The main focus of our caddie program is to provide a service to our members and their guests.  We believe and expect the best from our caddies, and this begins with your excitement and interest in becoming the best caddie you can be, and in our ability to properly train you to this end.  As a caddie, you are responsible for knowing and caring for the equipment of your players for the round.  Walking along side your players, assisting them with yardage and club selection when requested, as well as replacing divots, raking bunkers and keeping their golf balls clean are the fundamentals of quality caddying.  You are expected to know the location of your players’ ball at all times, and be the first one to arrive at the ball prior to each shot.

In addition to these basic skills, friendliness and companionship are part of the caddie role as you will be spending as much as four hours with your players during a round.  All of these variables come together to form the caddie experience, and our goal is to provide you with the training and guidance to offer this to our member and their guest.

Our training program lasts four weeks and consists of classroom, on course, and a test.  Training starts the week after spring break.  To sign up for caddie training please contact us in early March by calling the golf shop at (616) 738.6000 or email golf@wuskowhan.com.  Space is limited on a first come basis with 25 trainees per season accepted.

We are pleased to announce that we are a member of the Western Golf Association and caddies at our club have the opportunity to apply for an Evans Scholarship.  Below are the links for information:
